From LiveCDList
Mediainlinux Team is proud to introduce you to Mediainlinux 3 (Beta Version).
Thanks to the free and libre open source software movement this GNU/Linux Live CD is bringing to the multimedia audience of digital artists a full toolbox for creativity. The cd is entirely developed from the Debian Distribution plus external packages, ships with hundreds of free and libre open source softwares for 2D/3D Graphic, Audio and Video production and is easily customizable for every need trough a simple procedure. We are testing it in a Research and Production environment for multimedia, tv and film related business at Virtual Reality & Multi Media Park ( VRMMP Web Site ) and Lumiq Studios ( Lumiq Web Site) and we are improving it during the next months in order to release the final version on summer, during the 2005 Siggraph Exhibition.
If you launch Mediainlinux.sdk (in /cdrom/scripts/) you can create your own Mediainlinux directly in a nested desktop window. You just have to close your session after your customizations and launch Mediainlinux.create (also in /cdrom/scripts/). On a modern machine your Custom Mediainlinux (.iso) is a matter of minutes. Nobody needs to be an expert anymore to create his own system. We want many systems out there. Spread the news.
We hope you'll enjoy using our release as we've enjoyed it.
Thanks to everyone who contributed in this release and exspecially to our team and friends (too many to list here: you know who you are!). Thanks to Andrea Marchesini (a.k.a. Bakunin) and Francesco Vigna (a.k.a. Muzak) for programming and music, respectively: those guys make us happy.
Now there's only one question for you: "any idea?"
Mediainlinux actively supports the Creative Commons Foundation and we ask you to consider the sharing of your works under one of this free licences.
This world needs our dreams.
